The University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences will celebrate its newest graduating class at a convocation ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at The Classic Center in Athens. 
The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Alumni Association recognized eight outstanding college alumni at the 66th CAES Alumni Association Awards banquet on April 9 at the University of Georgia Tate Center Grand Hall. Two Georgia agricultural leaders were honored with induction into the Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame. CAES News

Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame
A pioneer in poultry and a producer who has been a strong advocate in agricultural policy will be inducted into the Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame on April 9 during the 66th University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Alumni Association Awards in Athens.

Sixty years ago, Mary Frances Early blazed a trail as the first Black graduate of the University of Georgia. Robert J. Jones, chancellor of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, followed that trail years later and shared his experiences during the 2022 Mary Frances Early Lecture, held Feb. 22 in Mahler Hall at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel.​​​​​​​
CAES alumnus Alyssa Gutierrez presented on AutoMat, the company she co-founded, to representatives from the Georgia Governor’s Office, Georgia Department of Agriculture, and Georgia Legislature in fall 2021. CAES News
After FABricate
FABricate, which kicks off with a quick pitch competition on Feb. 28, has helped winners and finalists launch companies while at UGA and beyond.

Fall 2021 Convocation
Friends and family are invited to join fall graduates at the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Convocation ceremony to honor the college’s newest alumni. The ceremony will take place in person at the Hugh Hodgson Concert Hall of UGA's Performing Arts Center on Dec. 17 beginning at 12:30 p.m. There are no tickets required, as the event is free for all students and accompanying guests.

First Rural Scholars Cohort
A first-year animal science major from Metter, Georgia, Gracie Grimes considers her small hometown to be a haven. Her passion for agriculture, coupled with her excellent academics, helped Grimes earn one of four spots in the first cohort of the Rural Scholars Program in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.

Poultry Science Complex
The University of Georgia broke ground Monday on the site of a new, technologically advanced Poultry Science Complex in Athens. The project will dramatically increase capacity for instruction, research and collaboration supporting Georgia’s multibillion-dollar poultry industry, the largest sector of the state’s No. 1 agriculture and agribusiness industry.
