Rockhouse Creamery
A swirl of red and white atop a coconut crust, the iconic strawberry ice cream pie at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel has been a highlight of the menu since the 1960s. Adding to the legacy, an alumni business, Rock House Creamery, is now the supplier of the famous strawberry ripple ice cream central to the pie.

Three graduates of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences are among the University of Georgia Alumni Association's 40 Under 40 Class of 2023. Among the young alumni addressing the world’s most critical issues, leading businesses and serving their communities are three honorees from CAES: a community advocate, a veterinarian and an obstetrician providing women’s health care in rural Georgia.

Top Ranking
The University of Georgia was recently recognized as one of the best colleges in the country through a top ranking from “Money” magazine in its annual Best Colleges in America list. Last year, the university’s four-year completion rate increased to a record 75.1% while the six-year completion rate grew to 88.1%. With a retention rate of 94.3%, UGA’s success exceeds the average completion and retention rates of peer institutions.

NSF Development Award
The University of Georgia has been awarded $1 million from the National Science Foundation’s Regional Innovation Engines program for the Next Generation Agriculture project, a broad collaboration intended to help Georgia farmers move toward “Ag 4.0” — the fourth agricultural revolution — in their practices.

2023 Alumni Awards
Six alumni from the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences were recognized at the 67th annual CAES Alumni Association Awards banquet on April 29. Two Georgia agricultural leaders were honored with induction into the Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame at the event, hosted at the UGA Tate Center Grand Hall.

CAES Convocation
Another school year has come and gone, and with this passing, a new group of Bulldogs are about to gain their titles as University of Georgia alumni. The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences will hold its convocation ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at The Classic Center Theatre in downtown Athens.
