Georgia cattle farmers, both large and small scale, will learn useful research-based information at the annual University of Georgia Mountain Beef Cattle Field Day April 18 in Blairsville, Ga.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Georgia Mountain Research and Education Center. The field day ends at 3 p.m.
Experts from UGA, North Carolina State and the University of Tennessee will present information at the field day.
This year's field day topics will include research updates from studies on pasture ecology, soil and fertilizer management, beef cattle efficiency, weed control in pastures and hay fields and fly control for pastured cattle.
The afternoon session will be held at the research and education center’s beef cattle unit/handling facility. Stocker feeding trial results will be presented there.
There is no charge for the field day. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
