A Sumter County University of Georgia Cooperative Extension 4-H program to teach students with special needs about agriculture was a soaring success last year, however, it may fall to Earth if program administrators can’t secure funding to fuel it.

As Hurricane Dorian heads toward the continental U.S., Georgians are reminded of the arrival of a season that isn’t celebrated – hurricane season. Georgians typically flock to the grocery stores and stock up on bread, milk and bottled water. University of Georgia Cooperative Extension offers a broader list of items to have on hand no matter what emergency threatens to arrive.
The only way to properly remove and kill bacteria from raw poultry meat is to thoroughly cook the poultry to a minimum of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. A USDA report now shows that even if consumers don't wash raw poultry, the food safety risk is still present due to other common habits. CAES News
