Workshops to help Georgia farmers handle new EPA regs

By Brad Haire

The Environmental Protection Agency has issued new regulations for on-farm soil fumigation. To help Georgia growers plan for these regulations, University of Georgia Cooperative Extension and the Georgia Fruit and Vegetables Growers Association have organized a series of workshops.

The workshops will start at 9 a.m. Oct. 26 in Statesboro, Oct. 27 in Tifton and Oct. 28 in Bainbridge. Stanley Culpepper, UGA Extension weed specialist, will be the main speaker at each location.

For more information, call GFVGA at (706) 845-8200.
