With soil temperatures down now, it's time to plant the bulbs (tulips, daffodils, hyacinth, etc) that will make beautiful flowers in the spring. On "The Georgia Gardener" Oct. 28 and 30, host Walter Reeves shows how to give bulbs a well-prepared bed.
Reeves shows exactly how to prepare the soil. Then he shows how to arrange the bulbs, plant and mulch them.
In his
final show of the 1999
season, Reeves shows how to plant a fescue lawn, too, including a
nifty trick to help
determine how much seed to use. Finally, he demonstrates the
proper way to prune shrubs
and trees.
"The Georgia Gardener" is designed especially for Georgia gardeners. It airs on GPTV at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays and 10 a.m. on Saturdays. The show is produced by the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and PFC Holding Company.
