Quail Field Day Planned Oct. 5 at Wolf Creek

The bobwhite quail population has a fighting chance now to come back strong in rural Georgia. To learn how you can help quail survive and thrive, attend the Wolf Creek Quail Management Field Day Oct. 5 near Ashburn, Ga.

In the Wolf Creek Project (www.bugwood.cae, researchers study the effects of intensive farming on insect and quail populations. The project is a collaborative effort between two University of Georgia schools, the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the Warnell School of Forest Resources.

The field day starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. To register, or for more information or directions, call (912) 386-3416.
