'Walk Through Herb Garden' Sept. 18 in Griffin

Gardeners can see how to grow herbs during a stroll through the University of Georgia's Griffin, Ga., herb garden Saturday, Sept. 18.

Donna Norris, manager of GardenSmith Greenhouse & Nursery, will identify the garden's herbs and tell how to grow them. She'll tell how to use them, too, in cooking, perfumes and potpourri.

"A Walk through the Herb Garden" will start at 10 a.m. and end at noon at the Research & Education Garden of the UGA Georgia Experiment Station.

The garden, on Ellis Road at Hwy. 19/41, is part of the Griffin, Ga., campus of the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. The unique 65-acre garden has research plots and a demonstration area open to the public.

To attend the workshop, you must preregister by Sept. 13. Sign up by sending your name and a $5 check (payable to "Department of Horticulture") to Research & Education Garden, 1109 Experiment St., Griffin, GA 30223.

For directions to the UGA Griffin campus, call (770) 229-3367.
