It's summertime, and the mosquitoes are busy. So are all the people who want to sell you ways to keep them away. On "The Georgia Gardener," host Walter Reeves will show you good ways, the worthless and the in-between.

The show will be aired July 1 and 3 on Georgia Public Television. Reeves will show how to keep mosquitoes from breeding near your home, too.

He'll also look at mulching the garden and ways to stake tomatoes. And he'll discuss pinching back mums (to stimulate more blooms) with Callaway Garden horticulturist Parker Andes.

"The Georgia Gardener" is designed especially for Georgia gardeners. It airs Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. on GPTV.

The show is a production of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and PFC Holding Company.

Dan Rahn is a news editor with the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
