ATHENS - The University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences announced today that Suzanne Griffeth will be the college’s director of alumni engagement.

“We are thrilled to have Suzanne take on this role to energize our growing alumni base,” said Rob Cooper, director of the college’s office of external affairs. “Her depth of experience will help us stay connected to the more than 19,000 CAES alumni around the world.”

Before joining CAES in 2013 as director of annual giving, Griffeth served in alumni relations and development for the UGA Law School and the UGA College of Family and Consumer Sciences.

“I’m excited and honored to have been selected to serve as the director of alumni engagement. It is a privilege to serve CAES alumni and learn their amazing success stories,” Griffeth said. “CAES has a talented alumni community around the globe, and I look forward to working to strengthen their ties with current students and fellow alumns.”

Griffeth sees the strong college alumni base as a valuable resource to help further the college’s mission because of their devotion to UGA and the college.

“I’m tremendously excited that Suzanne is taking on this role,” said Dennis Epps, president of the UGA CAES Alumni Association.

“We’ve seen her capability to build strong relationships and partnerships. We know we have someone with demonstrated skills to further our key goals and bring in more out-of-state graduates and our graduates on a global scale to get them reconnected to our college,” Epps said. “She’s the consummate professional to build those partnerships.”

Griffeth is a 1999 graduate of the UGA College of Family and Consumer Sciences and an active member of the Athens community, volunteering with the Northeast Georgia United Way, serving as vice president of the Timothy Road Elementary School PTO and is an active member of Milledge Avenue Baptist Church.

She will assume her new duties Sept. 1, 2015.
