A landscape business class is set for Feb. 13 at the University of Georgia campus in Griffin. The class will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Student Learning Center on the UGA Griffin Campus.
Experts from the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences will lead the class, which covers the basics of how to get started in the landscape industry. Topics will include developing a budget, creating a business plan, marketing and essential equipment.
The class will also cover proper job bidding methods, including software that helps more accurately estimate costs and, subsequently, builds more profit. Current licensing laws, rules and regulations for the landscape industry will also be discussed.
