Landscape business class set for UGA Griffin

A landscape business class is set for Feb. 13 at the University of Georgia campus in Griffin. The class will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Student Learning Center on the UGA Griffin Campus.

Experts from the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences will lead the class, which covers the basics of how to get started in the landscape industry. Topics will include developing a budget, creating a business plan, marketing and essential equipment.

The class will also cover proper job bidding methods, including software that helps more accurately estimate costs and, subsequently, builds more profit. Current licensing laws, rules and regulations for the landscape industry will also be discussed.

Refreshments and lunch are included in the $65 registration fee. Pre-registration is required; call (770) 228-7214.

The class is sponsored by the UGA Department of Horticulture and the UGA Center for Urban Agriculture.
