The staff of the UGA Trial Gardens will host the 2013 “Plantapalooza” plant preview and sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6.
Plantapalooza is one of the trial garden’s signature public open houses. However, it will be the last Plantapalooza for Trial Gardens’ founder Alan Armitage, who is retiring this summer.
Hundreds of varieties of test plants will be display in the garden. Members of UGA’s Hort Club and the Friends of the State Botanical Garden of Georgia will be selling plants onsite as well.
“Everyone at the Trial Gardens has been working hard since last fall to make sure we have great plants and a great sale, so I am really excited for everyone to come,” said Sheridan Weaver, director of marketing for the gardens.
Information about the Trial Gardens, the Plantapalooza schedule and the plant sale is available at www.ugatrialgardens.com. The Trial Gardens are located at 220 W. Green St., Athens, GA. There will be free parking on campus for this event.
