Students to learn about creepy crawly insects at UGA Bug Camp

By Andrea Gonzalez

Elementary and middle school students can spend a week studying insects through the University of Georgia Bug Camp.

Set for July 19 through 23 on the Athens, Ga., campus, the camp curriculum will cover insect collecting, insect identification, research laboratory tours and hands-on learning with UGA entomology faculty and graduate students.

The cost of the camp is $150. For more information, see the website www.ent.uga.edu/BugCamp/index.htm or contact Marianne Robinette at entomolo@uga.edu or (706) 542-1238.

Students can get up close and personal with insects, like this hissing cockroach held by Claire Stace, at the UGA Bug Camp.
