Dooley will tell how the UGA Sanford Stadium football field was transformed into an Olympic soccer field and then back into the same football field. He will talk at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, the second day of the Dec. 8-10 event.

The program is designed for anyone who wants to know more about managing turf, from golf course superintendents to homeowners. It has been called "The Greatest Show on Turf."

The big event will have information on many turf care problems. Visitors can learn through intensive workshops, educational sessions, symposiums and the trade show.

UGA researchers will tell about new turf cultivars, advanced weed management and landscaping and building around trees. They'll offer sessions on beginning and advanced turf management, irrigation and water management.

UGA and four others - the Georgia Turfgrass Association, Georgia Golf Course Superintendents, Georgia Sod Producers and the Metro Atlanta Landscape and Turf Association - sponsor the event.

It all starts Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 a.m. The first workshops will be Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. The trade show will open at noon Tuesday. It will also be open from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Educational sessions will be at 8-11 a.m. and 2-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8. Thursday will see symposiums from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and workshops from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

You may attend the whole three days or just the days you prefer. For example, you can sign up for Tuesday all day, Tuesday morning only or Tuesday afternoon only. The fees will be adjusted accordingly.

Fees range from $40 to $125 for workshops and include instruction, lunch, notebook and trade show admission. For a brochure, directions or more about fees, call (770) 975-4123.
