Plant I.D. workshop for landscape pros Aug. 4

University of Georgia

The University of Georgia will have a hands-on workshop Aug. 4 on its Griffin, Ga., campus to help landscape professionals learn to identify more than 30 trees, shrubs and woody vines commonly used in landscapes.

Landscapers preparing for the professional certification exam will find the workshop particularly helpful. Combining classroom lessons with up-close study of the plants outdoors will help the plant identifications sink in.

A $25 fee covers handouts, lunch, refreshments and instruction by UGA faculty. Dress for summer heat, humidity and possible showers.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Stuckey Auditorium. The workshop begins at 8:30 and ends at 3 p.m.

To sign up or learn more about the program, call (770) 228-7243 or (770) 229-3477. For directions to the Griffin campus, visit www.g riffin.peachnet.edu/directions_maps.htm.
