“Representatives from European and U.S. agricultural universities have been meeting in an effort to enhance collaboration between our countries in agricultural education and research,” said Gale Buchanan, dean and director of the UGA CAES.
During the meeting in Athens, the two organizations will focus on student exchanges, distance learning, curriculum development and multicountry and multistate research and outreach activities.
“We hope to be able to coordinate these kinds of programs so they will conform with both U.S. and European university regulations and policies,” Buchanan said.
The W.K. Kellogg Foundation supported the meeting with a $6,000 grant. The meeting will be at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education on the UGA campus in Athens.
