Beef short course set Dec. 2 in Statesboro

University of Georgia

Raising cattle never was easy. It's not simple, either.

Biosecurity, animal identification and country-of-origin labeling are among the sessions planned for the 2003 Southeast Georgia Beef Cattle Short Course Dec. 2 in Statesboro, Ga.

Other sessions will cover production improvements, the Beef Quality Assurance program, Johne's disease, the market outlook and government programs.

The program will start with 9 a.m. registration at the Center for Agriculture in Statesboro. It will end at 3 p.m. The cost is $5 if you sign up by Nov. 25 or $10 after that.

To learn more or get a registration form, contact the county University of Georgia Extension Service office. Or call Tim Wilson at (912) 681-5639. Or go to the Web site at www.ugabeef.org.
