Spanish classes begin for landscape pros Oct. 1

University of Georgia

Today's green industry relies heavily on Latino workers. But for many managers, language differences can cause even simple instructions to be confusing.

To help landscape and turf managers break down this language barrier, the Hall County Extension Service and the North Georgia Landscape and Turf Association are hosting a course, "Introductory Spanish for the Green Industry."

The classes will be on Wednesday nights from 6 to 8 p.m. from Oct. 1 through Nov. 19. Suzanne Lloyd, owner of Cutting Edge Landscaping, will teach Spanish with a green industry twist to landscaping professionals.

The course will cost $50. It will be taught at the Hall County Extension Office in Gainesville, Ga.

To learn more about the classes, call the Hall County Extension Service at (770) 535-8293.
