Walter Reeves |
Bamboo expert Frank Linton shows how a bamboo clump spreads by rhizomes. He explains the key points in dividing an overgrown pot to get clumps for other containers.
Reeves has fun with techniques for growing kudzu. He tells how much 30-weight motor oil to use as fertilizer (to avoid friction) and how much brick rubble or cinder block to use as mulch.
Mealybugs, Hyacinth Beans
He also looks at mealybugs, common pests of indoor houseplants, and shows how to control them. Finally, he examines purple hyacinth bean (Dolichos lablab). With pink-purple flowers, deep purple bean pods and decorative black bean seed, it can be grown in full sun on arbors or mailboxes.
