Sweet smelling roses on 'Your Southern Garden' May 28

Stop and smell the roses on "Your Southern Garden" with Walter Reeves May 28 at noon and 6:30 p.m. on Georgia Public Broadcasting.

There’s nothing like the beauty and smell of roses to brighten a landscape. Show host Reeves visits with University of Florida horticulturist David Clark, who is breeding fragrance into his roses.

A dry, hot summer is starting around the South. Don’t waste money on the irrigation water you use. UF/IFAS Extension irrigation specialist Michael Dukes will demonstrate how to adjust an irrigation system to save water.

If your oak tree has leaves covered with blisters, Reeves will show you how to control it, and he will give you tips on caring for mail-order plants.

"Your Southern Garden," produced by the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and UF/IFAS Extension, is a one-of-a-kind program specifically for the Southeast. The program is made possible by sponsorship from the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and Clemson Cooperative Extension.
