Greenhouse School Great for Pro, Wanna-be

Whether you're a pro in the greenhouse, a great gardener or just an enthusiastic wanna-be, you can benefit from the "Getting Started in the Greenhouse Business and Propagation School" Feb. 1-3 in Griffin, Ga.

Sponsored by the Georgia Flower Growers Association, this three-day event offers two days of intensive classes and one day of hands-on ornamental plant propagation workshops.

The business school will be Feb. 1-2 at the Georgia Experiment Station. Greenhouse and nursery owners, landscape professionals and University of Georgia faculty will present step-by-step guidelines and tips for people starting a greenhouse business.

The propagation workshop will follow on Feb. 3. It will provide everything you need to know about successfully growing new plants from existing ones.

Beginners', Advanced Workshops

The program will include both beginners' and advanced workshops, each consisting of two half-day sessions. In either workshop, you'll be able take your day's efforts home to watch your plants grow.

You can sign up for the school or either workshop until the day of the event, but seats are limited. Early registration is encouraged, especially for the propagation schools.

The fee is $105 for GFGA members or $130 for nonmembers. To learn more about the event, or to sign up, call the GFGA at (770) 229-3477.
