Georgia Clean Day March 22 in Atlanta

Do you have unlabeled or unusable pesticides? Pesticides no longer registered for ornamentals and turf?

The Georgia Department of Agriculture is providing a chemical amnesty day, Georgia Clean Day 2000, March 22 in Atlanta.

The day is geared especially to help lawn-care, landscape, nursery, greenhouse and golf-course companies. To help them safely get rid of these chemicals, the GDA has worked with a disposal company to take the pesticides to a licensed waste facility.

There is no charge. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at North Metro Tech in Acworth, Ga.

Interested? Call your University of Georgia Extension Service county office. They can give you further details, including preregistration forms and a list of unacceptable materials.
