Green Industry Updates Planned

greenart.gif (21167 bytes)Nursery and landscape professionals can learn the latest about their growing businesses in two in late October.

The first, for landscapers, will be Oct. 28 in Tallahassee, Fla. The second, for nursery professionals, will be Oct. 29 in Cairo, Ga.

The extension services of the University of Georgia and University of Florida, and the Georgia Green Industry Association, sponsor the updates.

In the Florida program, sessions will cover new plants, ornamental grasses and vines, turf management, cost estimation, common problems, diseases, insects and other landscape topics.

Among the nursery topics in the Georgia program will be container irrigation options, water reuse and recapture designs, scouting, insect and disease problems, new plants and large-container production systems.

The fee for either update is $30, or $35 after Oct. 22. Lunch will be provided. To learn more about either program, contact the county extension office. Or call (912) 386-3416.
