DIY landscape workshop set in Griffin Sept. 13-14

University of Georgia

Some folks want a pro to design their landscape. Others want to do it themselves, and the University of Georgia has a workshop designed especially for them Sept. 13-14.

Over two afternoons, the program is designed for people who need to learn how to design a new landscape or enhance an existing one. It will cover design principles, plant and tree selection, the use of color, planting techniques and even a look at landscape design software for homeowners.

UGA horticulturists David Berle, a certified landscape architect, and Bob Westerfield will lead the program. DeKalb County Extension agent Gary Peiffer and UGA garden horticulturist Tony Johnson will join Berle and Westerfield as teachers.

The program begins at 1 p.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. both days at the Stuckey auditorium on the UGA Griffin, Ga., campus. A $75 fee covers both days' materials and refreshment breaks.

To register, call (770) 229-3477.
