The field day is sponsored by Georgia Organics, the United States Department of Agriculture and the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
Attendees will tour three research farms where they will see ongoing experiments by USDA and UGA CAES scientists. Topics include alternative summer and winter cover crops, weed suppression, covers and farmscaping as pest-management tools, organic no-till planting and peanut varieties bred for better disease resistance.
There will also be demonstrations of equipment designed or modified for organic growing in no-till and conventional tillage situations.
