'Green Up 2004' landscape update, trade show set

University of Georgia

The Green Up 2004 Landscape Update and Trade Show will be March 10 at the Miller-Murphy-Howard building at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, Ga.

The update is planned for landscape maintenance workers and managers. But garden center, golf course and nursery workers could benefit from the training and trade show, too.

The program offers sessions on new insecticides and herbicides, preparing for new water regulations, pricing for profit, irrigation auditing and more.

Participants can earn up to 4 hours of commercial pesticide credit in category 24. The free afternoon trade show will have exhibits from Kubota, Dixie Chopper, Exmark, Hustler, Graco and others.

Preregistration is required. The $20 fee covers all sessions, a break and lunch. To learn more, call the Houston County Extension Service at (478) 542-2020. Or e-mail Willie Chance (wchance@uga.edu).

Willie Chance is a Houston County Extension agent with the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
