Conference Set on Kids' Environmental Health

Parents, teachers and community leaders need information to help protect children from environmental health risks at home, school and play. And they're likely to find what they need during the Children's Environmental Health Partnership Conference Oct. 9-11 in Atlanta.

The conference is a result of an agreement between the Environmental Protection Agency Region 4 with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service.

The CSREES provides county extension agents training and materials to support children's environmental health education and outreach. They use material developed by EPA (displays, newsletters, curriculums, videos, booklets, tip sheets).

The program will be in the Atlanta Federal Center, with lodging in the Omni Hotel. It will begin 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 9, and end at 4 p.m. Oct. 11.

The fee is $25 if registered by Sept. 26. After that, it's $35. If you have questions about registration, call Jorge Atiles at (706) 542-8860, or e-mail him at jhatiles@uga.edu.
